Both of them don't have hands-free driving. Both require the driver to maintain contact with the steering wheel by applying pressure at least every two minutes, or more frequently if the vehicle detects a need for more attention.

I think HDA is supposed to slow you down if you're going too fast, and NSCC-C is for those curvy roads. I have the curve thing turned on, but I'm not sure about HDA. It's sometimes slowed me down on really sharp corners, but I haven't noticed it slowing me down for speeding.

That "auto" light turns green when it kicks in. I'll have to check if I even have HDA turned on. Maybe it's off.

My 2021 Niro has HDA or HDA1, and while the lane keeping is okay, it's not as good as Tesla's. It feels a bit jerky, and I don't always trust it to stay centered. I'm curious if HDA2 is a noticeable upgrade.

Yeah, HDA and HDA 2 both offer advanced driver assistance, but you’ll still need to keep your hands on the wheel occasionally. Neither is fully hands-free.

Warning! The auto-steering can disengage unexpectedly, so it's not safe to rely on it for hands-free driving. It's effective in highway stop-and-go trafic, where extended periods without steering control aren't a hazard. I think we need to familiarize ourselves with it before fully trusting this feature!

HDA and HDA 2 are impressive, but neither offers completely hands-free driving just yet. You'll still need to keep your hands on the wheel occasionally, especially for safety. It's more of a hands-on assist than a full-on autopilot.

It's easy to get confused about 'hands-free' driving! I've been wondering about the exact capabilties of these systems. Even with HDA 2, which is more advanced, you still need to keep your hands on the wheel, or at least be ready to take over. They're designed to assist, not replace, the driver. Check your car's manual for the specific requirments and limitations. I've learned that car manuals are essential resources
