I’m nearing the end of my lease on a 2022 Niro EV, and I’ve run into a bit of a puzzle. Kia’s self-assessment guide mentions a $500 charge if the EV charging cable storage case is missing. However, I don’t recall ever receiving one. The L1 EVSE I got was in a clear plastic bag, no fancy case included.
I called Kia Finance to clarify, but they couldn’t confirm whether US-market '22 Niro EVs originally came with a case. I also plan to call the dealership where I leased the car (though it’s over 350 miles away) to see if they have any records.
For those who leased or purchased the same model, do you remember getting a charging cable bag or case? If it was included, I’d like to track it down since it should technically be part of the car.
