I'm thinking of changing my dome lights to LED but I don't have an idea how to change it. Have any of you here tried changing it?

Also, what LED brand could you guys recommend? Thanks!

There's a YouTube video that shows how to remove the entire thing. To remove the sunglasses case, loosen the screws and pull it down. I can't remember the name of the video, but you can look it up.

This is ok in case the receptacle disappears into the housing after he uses too much force.

Hey, have you tried to replace the vanity mirror lights, too?
I wouldn't recommend that. He can lose the bulb somewhere in the trim, and I don't think he wants to deal with some weird noise after that. It is almost impossible to make any work in there because of the tiny space.

I’ve swapped mine to LED before, it's pretty easy. Just pop out the old bulb (a flat tool helps) and replace it with the new LED. For brands, I’d recommend Philips, Sylvania, or Auxito they're reliable and fit well. Just make sure to get the right size for your dome light

Swapping to LED is a breeze! Pop off the dome cover, swap the old bulb, and slide in the new LED. For brands, I’d recommend Sylvania, Philips, or Govee. They’re all solid choices. Just make sure it’s the right fit, or you might end up with an accidental rave!

I wrapped a shoe lace around the vanity light bulb and then put the lose ends of the lace through a 2 inch section of a stiff, reusable drinking staw. I was able to get the light in, but both vanity lights and dome lights are out now. Likely a fuse. BTW - I lost the original bulb in the trim before trying the shoelace trick. :(

That sounds like quite the adventure! It definitely seems like a fuse issue and it’s an easy fix, tried it once and may even have a spare fuse in the box. And that shoelace trick… clever idea but I can see why it didn’t quite pan out
