My Kia EV's factory warranty is about to expire. I'm thinking about getting an extended warranty from Kia, but I have no idea what to expect for pricing. Anyone here gotten a quote for an extended warranty on their Kia EV? I'm just looking for a ballpark figure, not trying to debate if it's worth it or not.

My cousin in Canada, who also owns a Niro, got a fantastic deal on the 10-year, 200,000 km Kia Protect 5-Star protection, reducing the price from $4,200 CAD to $2,200 CAD, which seemed too expensive for me at the original price. While there is a chance of needing repairs within 200,000 km, the potential savings outweighs the cost of the warranty.

@Humbert-Humbert You can visit Kia’s website. I highly recommend to read through the terms and conditions especially what is covered and not covered. If you think this is will help you in the future, I highly recommend to extend the warranty if this is still available on your vehicle.

I decided to skip the extended warranty. If something major breaks, I'll just get a new car. And if it runs fine, then cool! I've only had to use an extended warranty twice, and one of them was free. I only had to fix one thing under those warranties. So, I don't think they're really worth it.

Extended warranties can feel like a bit of a gamble. If you've been lucky with repairs in the past, you might be fine skipping it. Modern cars, especially EVs like the Niro, usually don't have as many problems as older gas cars. As long as you're okay with paying for repairs if something goes wrong, you're probably good to go.
