had quite a scare today with my 2024 Niro EV. After the car was parked for about four hours, I started driving, and I got a message on the dash: “Battery Overheating — Pull Over Safely and Leave Vehicle.”

It wasn’t even a hot day, and the car only has about 7,000 km on it. I ended up calling a tow truck because I wasn’t sure how safe it was to continue driving.

Is this a common problem, or could it just be a fluke with my vehicle? what did the dealership say or do to fix it?

I haven't heard of a small radiator specifically for the electrical system causing rapid oil life decline. However, it's interesting about Kia Niro.

Perhaps there's a software glitch or a sensor issue triggering the early oil life indicator. Have you tried resetting the oil life monitor? Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve strange readings. If the issue persists, consulting a Kia technician for a professional diagnosis would be a good next step

Battery overheating warnings are rare but not unheard of. It could be a sensor issue or an actual fault. The dealership will likely run diagnostics to pinpoint the problem
