So hyped for Tesla’s Supercharger network opening up next year! I grabbed a NACS to CCS adapter for my 2022 Kia Niro EV- can I use it on level 2 destination chargers until Kia rolls out the Supercharger updates? Also, if I pull up to a Supercharger now (just for science, of course), will it straight-up reject the charge or switch to level 2?

Anyone out there managed to use Tesla chargers with a Kia EV yet? And what’s the ultimate app for finding Superchargers - Tesla’s, a third-party one, or just yelling at Siri/Google to figure it out?

Any Tesla "Destination Charger" that has the proper Tesla-to-J1772 adapter can be used. You will need to buy a Tesla-to-CCS adapter for the Tesla Supercharger from Kia or any of the Amazon vendors. On this forum, you can look up the most trustworthy manufacturers.

Although the Tesla superchargers should be compatible with our vehicles, when operating, they probably won't be as quick as an unthrottled EA hyper charger.

You can locate a Tesla charger. is either the PlugShare app or the Tesla app.

The NACS to CCS adapter is essentially useless for now, as it won't actually get you access to Tesla's Superchargers until Kia/Tesla give the green light early next year. If you’re thinking of using a Tesla Level 2 destination charger, you’ll need a whole separate NACS to J1772 adapter.
So bottom line - don’t bother trying to charge at Tesla Supercharger stations with this adapter right now. It’s just not happening.

Gotcha, so my shiny new NACS to CCS adapter is just gonna sit there looking pretty for a few months, huh? 😂 Guess my epic “science experiment” at a Supercharger is on hold for now.

As for Tesla Level 2 chargers, I’ll grab a NACS to J1772 adapter - thanks for the heads-up! I don’t want to roll up to a destination charger and be that person just standing there looking confused. 😅
