A friend just got their first EV, a 2024 Kia Niro Wind+. They’re wondering if they’ll need charging adapters for their 274-mile journey home. They’ve also arranged for an electrician to install a Level 2 charger the day after getting the car. Excited but nervous about the unknowns.. LOL

For their trip home, they shouldn’t need adapters if they plan to use DC fast chargers along the way, most of these have the CCS connector that the Niro uses. Just in case, it’s a good idea to download a charging app like PlugShare or ChargePoint to check for compatible stations en route. Once the Level 2 charger is installed, charging at home will be a breeze. Exciting first trip for a new EV owner! Make sure they got their apps updated, and probably have powerbanks on hand.

Yeah, they’re set for DC fast chargers with the CCS connector, and the Level 2 charger will make home charging easy. Thanks
