Hey everyone,

First EV jitters here! We’re picking up a 2024 Kia Niro Wind+, and of course, the dealership’s 273 miles away! I think I’m prepared, but any “first EV” surprises I should brace for? Chargers, adapters, random stuff I didn’t think of? Level 2’s going in the next day, so at least we’re not charging off a hamster wheel at home

Congrats on the new Niro EV! I might have some thoughts for you.
- in winter the range can drop a bit - don't be surprised if you see a drop in the mileage;
- great choice going for a lvl2 charger at home;
- many EV owners recommend the ChargePoint+ (it can be a plus in winter because of its flexible cable);
- don't worry about charging it on the road - there are plenty of chargers nowadays;
- use ABRP for best charging spots;
- you will be anxious and nervous on the first long trip because of the range, haha, but again, don't worry. Just enjoy the journey.
I wish you safe rides! Also, good one (the joke with the hamster)!!

I’ll keep the range in mind, especially with the winter months. ChargePoint+ sounds like a great option for flexibility. Thanks
