I got my Niro EV last August. A month later, I noticed a chip in the paint on a door handle. Kia won't cover it under warranty. It's a small thing, but it's annoying. You'd think a brand-new car wouldn't have this kind of issue. I've tried two different dealerships, but they haven't been helpful. Kia's customer service has also been disappointing. I'm hoping someone here can give me some advice on how to get this fixed.

Why'd it take you a month to notice the chipping paint? Was that on you, or... what? Guess you’ll need to prove the issue is with the paint quality and not something like road debris or other outside stuff, huh?

Have you thought about using a high-quality touch-up paint? Kia should have a color-matched option for your Niro. If you’re up for a DIY fix, these touch-up kits can work wonders, especially for small chips. And if you’re persistent with Kia's customer service, they may eventually cover it, but at least a touch-up might keep it from getting worse in the meantime. 😭
