New owner here with a snowy question. My good friend gave me some new winter gear for my 2022 Niro EV for me to use in the future, but worried about the warranty and snow chains. Anyone have experience using them? Saw some folks online stressing about damaging rims/tires and voiding warranties.

Yeah, @MySteriouS StyleS is right. Just stick to winter tires. If don't like this (haha), go with snow socks. It is a better alternative to chains because these are gentler on tires and rims. Also, you won't risk your warranty.

I use winter chains only in extreme situations. But 98% of the winter/snowy time I use winter tires.
Same here! I know snow chains can be tricky, especially with those fancy rims. First, I’d check the owner’s manual, some EVs have limits on what kind of chains we can use. Using them correctly won’t void the warranty, but improper installation could damage the tires or suspension. I’ll make sure the chains fit the tires properly and are installed correctly. I might also look for chains specifically made for alloy rims. Hope this helps!
